Scotland Wood Carved Flag
Scotland is a land of captivating landscapes and rich cultural heritage, making it truly awe-inspiring. From the dramatic Highlands with their mist-covered mountains to the picturesque lochs and historic castles, Scotland's natural beauty is breathtaking. The country's vibrant cities like Edinburgh and Glasgow seamlessly blend history with modernity, offering a dynamic cultural experience.
The Saltire or St. Andrew's Cross, holds deep historical and cultural significance. Adopted in the 16th century, the flag features a white diagonal cross on a blue field. The cross is associated with Saint Andrew, the patron saint of Scotland. Legend has it that, before a decisive battle, a white cross appeared in the sky, inspiring and guiding the Scottish forces to victory.
Like all Legacy Flags, the Saltire is no exception of time and effort put into the carve. Each strip of wood is carved, chiseled and planed for the perfect heirloom presentation. The deep blue is achieved with layering multiple tones of blue over black paint. The white is painted black as a base first with subsequent layering of white over the distressed wood.
A perfect piece for a home looking to celebrate their Scottish heritage!
