Our Connection to Easter

Sacrifice and Freedom:
Easter is centered on the ultimate sacrifice—Jesus giving His life so that others might live in freedom from sin and death. Similarly, patriotism often honors those who sacrifice themselves for the good of their country, to protect the freedom of its people. In both cases, there's a powerful theme of selflessness, courage, and a willingness to lay down one's life for something greater.

Hope and Renewal:
The Resurrection brings hope, a new beginning, and the promise of life beyond death. Patriotism, at its best, is also about hope—the belief in a nation’s ideals, its ability to rise from hardship, and to be renewed through struggle. Just as Easter marks a new chapter for humanity, patriotic movements often look toward building a better future for generations to come.

Love for Others:
Jesus' sacrifice was driven by love. True patriotism is also rooted in love—not just for land or symbols, but for the people who make up a nation. Easter reminds us of the power of love to overcome darkness. That same love, when applied to one's country, inspires service, justice, and unity.
